Welcome! Just a little about myself ...
Thank you for checking out my website! First off, I absolutely love what I do. Teaching is a passion for me and I can't imagine spending my life doing anything else. Before I began teaching I worked in the business industry for years and years, but later decided to change my stars! Choosing to become a teacher was the best, most rewarding decision I've ever made. On a personal level, I am married and have three sons ages 20, 17, and 16. So, when I'm not teaching or grading papers, I'm most likely at a baseball game or practice. My sons are huge baseball fans! It is a joy to watch them grow into such wonderful young men. This year, two of my sons attend Elk Grove High School, and my oldest son is currently focusing on completing his AA with a Police Services concentration from Sac City College. I'm very proud of all my sons. Our extended family includes three dogs named Harley, Fender, and Butter that are so very different from each other, but part of the family nonetheless. We also have a cat, bird, snake, and an iguana!
Personally, I love home improvement projects and strongly believe that working hard pays off and builds character. My family likes to camp and the farthest I've traveled was to Italy. I enjoy watching movies with my family, and try to read a variety of novels as much as I can (although that primarily takes place during summer since I'm grading during the year!). I also enjoy listening to my husband and sons play guitar; they are very talented musicians. I have two brothers and one sister who I admire and adore. I enjoy chatting with my Ya-Ya's and cooking with my mom.
Over the years I've taught several levels of English: Lab, Regular, Honors, as well as Opportunity and English Workshop. Previously, I taught English in the San Juan district. However, I've been teaching 8th grade English at KAMS since the second year it opened. I feel very lucky to live and work in Elk Grove. It's an amazing place to raise a family.
